- Arrest reports from the Polk County Jail showed a Douglasville man was arrested on Sep. 15. Keaneau John Rhodes, 29, was arrested on Polk County on charges of possession of cocaine and a bench warrant. Rhodes is innocent until proven guilty. (Northwest Georgia News)
- A Facebook post by a Douglas County EMT and firefighter has gone viral. Jordan Reid's Facebook post received an outpouring of support from community members showing their appreciation for first-responders who 'answer the call.' “It was certainly more than I expected," Reid said of the post going viral. "I expected a few Facebook likes or maybe a comment or two.” (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Douglas County deputies said they would happily accept donations from area drug dealers after confiscating narcotics, guns, and cash on Thursday. The tongue-in-cheek comment was followed to say drugs will be destroyed and proceeds from gun sales, along with confiscated cash, will go into an account for programs for citizens who follow the law. - The City of Douglasville announced Jessie Davis Park is closed for renovations. The new additions to the park include a dedicated senior center, a new gym with two indoor basketball courts, expanded parking, a zero-entry pool with a splash pad, and more. Renovations will continue through the fall and Alice J. Hawthorne Center will remain open while other areas of the park will be restricted. (Press Release Desk)
