The best chance for storms to develop will be between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The heat index (or "feels like" temperature) will also be a concern at 98 degrees.

The threat of afternoon thunderstorms will continue through Saturday, according to the weather service. But we can expect slightly cooler temperatures.
