ATLANTA, Ga. — This week will start off with thunderstorms. The threat for more showers and storms will continue through the week.

Storms are likely overnight and into the early hours Monday. There will be a chance for showers returning Monday afternoon.

There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday, with a lingering opportunity for storm activity through the rest of the week and into the weekend.

"A few strong storms are possible and isolated severe storms cannot be ruled out due to the moderately unstable environment each day," according to a National Weather Service statement.

Temperature highs will be around 90 degrees.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 89.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
