Witnesses reported that Wordlow left in a small dark colored vehicle. Wordlow dropped the gun as he was fleeing the scene, which turned out to be a BB gun.
Villa Rica Police Department and Carrollton Police Department continued to investigate the incident and determined that the getaway vehicle at Waffle House was driven by Bailey, who was arrested due to his involvement in the crimes, resulting in Wordlow's death.
"There are no charges filed against the customer who shot Wordlow inside the Waffle House as he was justified in the use of force based on Wordlow’s actions in the crime of armed robbery," said Capt. Keith Shaddix, Villa Rica Police Department.
"We wish to thank Carrollton Police Department for all of their assistance in this investigation," he said. "The team work between the two departments could not have been better."
