Slater told the judge that he thought the house was empty when he entered it, according to Channel 2 TV News, and denied pursuing anyone in the home. He reportedly broke through a bedroom door, a bathroom door and a closet door before reaching the attic crawlspace.
The judge also banned Slater from Walton County.
