Car Break-Ins Rise Dramatically In Duluth

DULUTH, GA — The month of February our community suffered a sharp increase in car break-ins, in the city of Duluth. For February 2018, Duluth Police reported four entering autos, however, for this February that number rose to 20.

Of the 20, nearly all were unlocked or had valuables visible-which resulted in a broken window to get to the valuables. During the rash of entering autos, two vehicles were stolen. Police reported that the owners of the stolen cars left their keys in their car.

"We understand the City of Duluth is very safe and enjoys low crimes, however, our officers cannot stop all crime, we need the community to help as well!" the police said on Facebook.
