Double Homicide Suspect Turns Himself In To Police

The man who, police ​say, is a suspect in a double homicide that took place Saturday outside a Duluth bar, turned himself in Wednesday.

DULUTH, GA – The man who, Gwinnett County Police say, is a suspect in a double homicide that took place Saturday outside the Prime Bar and Grill, in Duluth, turned himself in Wednesday at about 8:40 p.m. He is being held in the Gwinnett County jail with no bond.

Samuel Songsy, 23, was identified as the suspect and a warrant was obtained for aggravated assault. Songsy was wanted for questioning in relation to the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

The victims were the bar co-owner, James Kim, 47, and Malik Jett, 26. At this time, detectives believe Kim was uninvolved in the altercation at the bar and was caught in the crossfire. Police said it is unclear at this time to what extent Jett was involved in the altercation. Detectives are still actively working on leads and welcome tips through Crime Stoppers.

At 2:30 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at 1960 Day Drive, at Prime Bar and Grill, in unincorporated Duluth. They discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
