Duluth All Star Basketball Team Recognized
Duluth team wins championship by defeating North Gwinnett, Mill Creek and Lawrenceville teams.
The Duluth All Star Basketball Team was recognized at the March 11 Duluth City Council meeting for winning first place in the Gwinnett Recreational All Star Basketball Tournament.
The county hosts the annual G.R.A.B.B. tournament for recreational high school leagues. The Duluth team includes players selected from the 16 teams that played at Bunten Road Park during the 2012-13 basketball season. Team member selections were based on sportsmanship, statistics and league recommendations.
The Duluth team defeated North Gwinnett (twice), Mill Creek and Lawrenceville teams to advance to the March 2 championship game at Bogan Park. Duluth beat the Lawrenceville Youth Association (Hood team) by a score of 65-42 to win the chanmpionship.
