Suwanee Resident Charged In Fatal Duluth Crash

A motorcycle driver was critically injured and later charged with first-degree vehicular homicide in the accident.

DULUTH, GA — A Suwanee resident is facing charges in a recent accident that killed a pedestrian at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Rogers Bridge Road, Duluth Police said Thursday.

Police said a motorcycle was speeding and erratically changing lanes around 6:15 p.m., July 13. The motorcycle was traveling faster than 100 mph on Peachtree Industrial, police said.

Cameras from the city and the Real Time Crime Center captured the incident on video. Police did not fully detail how the crash happened but said it involved the motorcycle, a pedestrian and a car.

Taylor Kratzer, the 34-year-old driver of the motorcycle, suffered injuries and was in critical condition as a result of the accident. Thomas Eurell, the 42-year-old pedestrian, died at the scene, police said.

Kratzer was charged Friday on suspicion of first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, speeding, improper lane change and tag to be displayed, police said.

The status of the car's driver is unknown.
