Duluth Officer Selected for Symposium in South Korea

Lee was one of just 15 people chosen for the event.

A Duluth Police officer is among a select group that will be attending an event in South Korea later in October.

According to a Duluth Police news release, Sharon Lee will attend a symposium hosted by the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Korean National Police Agency. The event will run Oct. 21-26.

Lee will be able to network with Korean law enforcement officials from different countries, learning about practices and sharing ideas. She is one of 15 people selected for the event, the release said.

 “My purpose and motive for attending the symposium is to better understand the Korean police system and apply that knowledge first hand to the vast Korean community I currently serve the in the City of Duluth. I feel it will greatly benefit the Korean community and our police department," Lee said in the release.

Also, Lee will present a Powerpoint on different practices and techniques successfully being used at the Duluth Police Department.
