Easter Traditions Have Ancient Origins

Happy Easter!

Many cherished Easter traditions, including the Easter Bunny, eggs and even candy, have ancient origins.

The rabbit, a prolific procreator, is a symbol of fertility and new life. Easter eggs, also a symbol of new life, represent Jesus’ emergence from the tomb and Resurrection. Chocolate candy eggs date back to 19^th century Europe.

Egg rolling represents the rolling away of the stone in front of Jesus’ tomb.
