Here are the top three stories in Duluth today:

  1. The City of Duluth has announced its 2022 event schedule, featuring the return of some classic events and the launch of a few new ones. Among the returning community favorites is Fridays-N-Duluth, which include both Food Truck Friday and Block Party on Main, from Apr. 29 through Sep. 16. New this year is a Jun. 25 event called Viva Las Duluth, where Vegas-style performances will hit the stage downtown. (Subscription: Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. Clowns of America International is hosting its annual convention right here in Duluth! The convention runs through Saturday at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta, with plenty of educational workshops, networking opportunities, and competitions. Clowns of America International, a nonprofit organization, has close to 2,000 members around the world. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Gwinnett County deputies have captured a fugitive wanted on several counts of attempted child molestation and internet crimes against children in 2020. According to officials, Thomas George Kaercher did not appear before a judge on his scheduled court date, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest. Kaercher is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
