Gwinnett Police Identify Apartment Homicide Victim

Officers responding to a report of a shooting at Menlo Creek Apartments find an adult male dead from a gunshot wound.

UPDATE: The victim of the homicide last Friday at the Menlo Park Apartments was identified by Gwinnett Police Monday as Robert Mixon, 33, who lived in rhe apartment complex. Detectives are actively investigating this case and do not believe this was a random crime. No additional details of the investigation will be released at this time.

Gwinnett Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Friday afternoon at the Menlo Creek Apartments in unincorporated Duluth.

Cpl. Jake Smith reported that police officers responded about 3:40 p.m. Nov. 2 to a report of a shooting in the 200 Building of the apartment complex located at 4370 Satellite Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult white male deceased from a gunshot wound, Smith said in a media release. Detectives were called to the scene and are actively working the case, he said.

At this time police are not releasing any information regarding suspects or a motive, Smith said. The victim's identity is also being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
