Here are the top three stories today in Duluth:
- During a Tuesday meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted to recognize Juneteenth as a paid county holiday. "In the spirit of honoring the vibrant diversity of our community, the Board also agreed to follow the federal and state governments in making Juneteenth an official county holiday, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans," the board said in a news release. As per the release, Juneteenth will be an additional paid holiday and will not replace any other existing days off. (11 Alive)
- The Georgia Department of Health, alongside the Gwinnett, Newton & Rockdale Health Department, recently graded eight Duluth eateries.
