Last Chance for Advance Voting: July 27

Duluth residents wishing to vote in advance in the July 31 Primary will have to do so Friday, July 27.

Duluth City Hall is not a location for early voting. Residents may vote early at the Gwinnett County Voter Registrations and Elections Office at 455 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville. For more information and locations for early voting click here.

There will be no voting anywhere in Gwinnett on Monday. Voting on Tuesday, July 31, will be at at Gwinnett County precincts.

There are several matters on both the Republican and Democratic ballots, including non-binding questions. The controversial one-cent sales tax TSPLOST referendum is on both ballots.

The race for Gwinnett County Commission District 1 has particular significance in and around Duluth. Also, there are several races for Georgia General Assembly seats of interest.

Republicans Jace Brooks and Laurie McClain are seeking the vacant commission seat. Brooks is a former Suwanee City Council member. McClain, a Duluth resident, has an accounting firm in Suwanee. No Democrat has qualified to run for the office in November, so the Republican winner will become the new District 1 commissioner.
