Man Shot To Death In Duluth Parking Lot; Person Of Interest In Custody

Police said the Wednesday afternoon shooting is not related to the body found in a trunk Tuesday at Gwinnett Place Drive.

DULUTH, GA —A person of interest is in custody after a man was shot to death around 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth, Gwinnett County Police said.

A witness to the shooting, which happened in a parking lot across from Gwinnett Place Mall, notified authorities. Police said the driver of a blue Chevrolet pickup truck was shot to death.

After receiving a description of the suspect's vehicle, police said officers found it and detained the driver near Dunwoody Club Drive in unincorporated Atlanta as a person of interest.

A motive in the shooting is being investigated. Police said it is not related to the body found in a trunk Tuesday night in the 3500 block of Gwinnett Place Drive.

The identities of both victims have not been released.
