Residents Evacuated, Duluth Apartment Fire Contained To Balcony
Apartment residents were forced to evacuate due to a fire Monday at a Duluth apartment complex.

DULUTH, GA – Firefighters responded to a neighbor’s report of an apartment fire Monday on the 4200 block of Pleasant Lake Village Lane NW in unincorporated Duluth, which was contained to the balcony. There were no injuries and no one was displaced.
The caller to 911 stated that they could see smoke.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the eaves of an apartment building. Building occupants had begun evacuating the building when fire trucks arrived. Firefighters deployed a fire attack line and were able to make a stop, limiting the damage of the flames to the balcony of the second story unit. Crews confirmed that the fire had not extended into the unit or into the attic. Per the incident commander, power was quickly restored to the building and residents were able to return to their individual units.

Per the fire investigator, the fire started on the balcony but its cause is undetermined.
