"I finished about 20 minutes before. Had just enough time to grab my checked clothes, my medal, and meet the family at the meeting spot. We had started walking to the train station (luckily in the opposite direction) when we heard and felt an explosion followed by another 10-15 seconds later. Knew it couldn't be good, but felt the best thing to do was get on the train. Luckily we made it out safe to our hotel two miles out of downtown. I am so sad for those who were injured or killed and their families."

TheΒ Boston Marathon released a statementΒ around 4 p.m. that said, "There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened."

TheΒ Associated Press reported at least two other explosive devices were found.Β
