APD Week 11 East Atlanta Area Crime Blotter

A sampling of Zone 6's Week 11 police incidents includes more pedestrian robberies, and a large spike in auto thefts.

The following police reports were filed March 13-21 by Zone 6 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to East Atlanta Patch. During this period, the zone filed 107 police reports. All information is presumed to be accurate. East Atlanta Patch is providing just a sampling of the incidents from this week in the following blotter.

Armed Robbery, 349 DECATUR ST. SE
The female victim reported she was robbed at gunpoint by a male wearing a ski mask. The robbery occurred at 9:20 p.m. at Decatur St SE @ Boulevard SE.
Before the robbery call came up, officers noticed a black male running and acting in a suspicious manner. The officers stopped the male at the Pencil Factory Lofts to investigate whether he was alright. The male pushed an officer and ran. The officers pursed and caught the male about the time the pedestrian
robbery call came up. The description of the robbery suspect was similar to the male in custody. The arrested male had a .40 cal Hi Point loaded with three bullets. The arrested male, Deshawn Webb, had a ski mask in his possession and the victim's property. He had multiple warrants out of Dekalb and Gwinnett
counties. Webb was a person of interest in multiple robberies in Edgewood during weeks #7 and #8. Arrestee: WEBB, DESHAWN DOB: 5/8/1990

Armed Robbery, 248 OAKLAND AVE. SE
The victim reported that he came to the Oakland cemetery to scout for a short film. A slim white male 5'7''-5'8'' wearing a black hoodie, black sun glasses, sweat pants, and sandals waved at the victim as he passed by. The suspect then put his hand out as if for a hand shake and pulled out a pocket knife with a black handle when the victim reached in for the hand shake. The suspect said, "Give me your wallet," took $1,900 cash from it, threw it on the ground and ran toward the Martin L. King Marta Station. The victim stated that he was carrying so much cash on him because he was going to an event called Super Games in Roswell, GA to buy Yu Gioh cards and enter a tournament.

Aggravated Assault, 883 WINFIELD AVE. SE
The (Arrestee: Keith Grant 1-2-78) was witnessed firing shots and carrying a Dewalt tool case wearing a light grey sweat suit. Two witness were willing to point him out and asked Officer Payne to follow them in their car and pointed the arrestee out at the intersection of Vickers St SE and Moreland Ave SE. Officer Payne and Officer Shaver’s approached the arrestee and recovered a .32 cal revolver inside of his waistband in a light glove that had a bullet hole with powder burns in it. The arrestee was also wearing a Kevlar vest. The witnesses all gave the same description of the male seen shooting. The DeWalt tool case contained a saws-all tool along with a can of pepper spray. The serial number for the tool is 505869. The serial number for the Smith and Wesson .32 cal
revolver is H66391. The revolver had 2 spent casings in it along with 3 live rounds. ARREST MADE

Residential Robbery, 1137 VILLAGE CT SE
Residence/ DV6 HP laptop, Ipod, Samsung Galaxy tab, Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun/ back window busted out (no prints)

Larceny, 595 PIEDMONT AVE. NE
SHOPLIFTING: (PUBLIX SUPER MARKET) - The (Arrestee: Willaim Hames 7-15-1985) consumed a bottle of California Pinot Grigio white wine $4.32 inside the restroom then attempted to leave the store without paying. ARREST MADE

Larceny, 478 EDGEWOOD AVE. NE
Victim stated that she was seated at Edgewood Pizza eating with her friends with her purse hanging from the back of one of the chairs when the suspect a tall black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and red baseball cap ran into the restaurant, grabbed her purse (red Coach style) which contained her vehicle keys, her wallet with Wells Fargo cards, and iPhone4 with pink and black case) and fled the location.

Auto Theft (37 this week), 500 NORTH AVE. NE
Taken from a parking lot. Stolen Vehicle: SILVER JEEP / LBY, 2003; Tag: WWJ7763; State: VA; RECOVERED IN ZONE 6 at 200 Cleveland Avenue Beat 606. Victim stated nothing was stolen out of the vehicle and the only damage was to the steering column and the passenger side rear window was busted out.

Auto Theft, 695 FRANCIS AVE. SE
Taken from a residence. Stolen Vehicle: WHI JEEP / CHK, 1999; Tag: BOD8589; State: GA; RECOVERED IN ZONE 6 BEAT 606 at 1113 Kirkwood Ave. Officer Shaver advised that the (Arrestee: JUVENILE of 1564 Westwood Ave.) - a young male wearing all black and a black vest exited out of the rear passenger side of the vehicle. A moment after the he exited the car, two more juveniles exited the vehicle and ran North toward Kirkwood Ave. Officer Cordell caught the arrestee and found two small baggies of marijuana in one of his pockets. Another officer detained the second male wearing an orange shirt this individual identified himself as JUVENILE of Kirkwood Gardens Apartments and stated that he knew nothing about a car. JUVENILE- ARREST MADE

Auto Theft, 1511 FOREST LAKES AVE. SE
Attempt only from Apartment Complex. The victim advised that she went to her vehicle but realize that her key did not work in the key lock. The victim advised that the key lock had been damaged on the driver side. The ignition in the vehicle had been smashed out with concrete rock that was still in the vehicle. The ignition was on the floor and the gear shift was in drive. The vehicle was still running but unable to move.
