UPDATED: Carjacking on Gresham Avenue
Police looking for a 2001 silver Volvo with Georgia license plate AHR4230.

Editor's note: Valencia Hudson, public safety liaison for Atlanta City Councilwoman Natalyn Archibong, issued the following crime alert. The stolen Volvo, was recovered on Monday, WSB-TV reported.:
EAST ATLANTA β At 1:48 a.m. on Jan. 19, 2013, Officer C. Crump was dispatched to 575 Gresham Ave. to investigate a carjacking that had just occurred.
Several other units copied the call and responded to the area. Responding Units saw the listed vehicle (a 2001 silver Volvo bearing Ga. License plate AHR4230) travelling away from the scene at a high rate of speed, and followed the vehicle as it entered I-20 eastbound headed toward Decatur.

Upon entering the highway however, the units were unable to locate the vehicle. A look-out was given over the air and also to the Georgia State Patrol.
The victims advised that they were walking southbound on Gresham Ave. leaving a bar.

They advised that as they approached their vehicle they were intercepted by two black males who looked to be in their early twenties.
One of the suspects was wearing a grey hoodie, the other a red hoodie.
The victims advised that the suspects pulled handguns on them, one possibly being a short silver semi-automatic pistol, and pointed the guns at the victim's heads.
At this point, the suspects demanded the victim's car keys andΒ the female victim'sΒ purse which contained credit cards and her iPhone. Β Neither victimΒ was injured during the incident.
