Atlanta Police Arrest Three in Stolen Auto Case

HISTORIC SOUTH ATLANTA β€” An Atlanta police officer managed to snag three suspected car thieves on Tuesday when he spotted them in the stolen vehicle β€” a day after he took the report from the victim.

On June 17, officers responded to stolen vehicle call in the 50 block of McDonough Boulevard, involving a 2007 Toyota Tundra.

The victim reported his truck had been stolen between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

A day later, the officer who took the report saw the Tundra near the corner of Fletcher and Smith streets in the Pittsburgh neighborhood and called for backup as he followed it.

The vehicle came to a stop near Delevan and Hubbard streets where five occupants exited and fled. Officers followed on foot and caught three of the suspects.

Inside the Tundra, officers found two flat screen televisions, a digital camera and a laptop computer. Investigators are trying to determine if those electronics were stolen.
