Kirkwood Builder Plans Two Homes on lots near Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church

A Kirkwood-based developer focused on new and remodeled home construction in intown Atlanta, particularly its historic communities, plans to construct two homes on a couple of residential lots on Euclid Avenue in Imnan Park.

Thrive Homes is in the early stages of the project, which calls for the construction of the homes on two lots west of the Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church. The church, which also , is not a part of this project

Adam Stillman, the Inman Park-based architect drawing up plans for the project, met with residents within 300 feet of the affected lots who last Thursday.

Those in attendance voted to support the project, he told East Atlanta Patch.

On Aug. 15, he said he will make a presentation on the planned designs at the meeting of the Inman Park Neighborhood Association.

Though it can't approve or block the project, IPNA's membership will be asked to support it as the developers will go before the Urban Design Commission Aug. 22 to seek the go-ahead to build.

The UDC, which will take the neighborhood's position into account, can approve, give conditional approval, deny or defer a vote on a proposed project.

Because the lots in question are already zoned residential and the developers aren't seeking variances, Stillman said the project won't need to go before Neighborhood Planning Unit-N, which includes the Inman Park community.

If all approvals and permits are met, the project would take four to six months to complete, he said.
