Two Shot Overnight in Moreland Avenue Fracas
Argument over women at local bar spills out into street.

CUSTER/McDONOUGH/GUICE β An argument over women at the Driftwood Sports Bar and Grill led to a shootout on Moreland Avenue early Tuesday, sending two people to the hospital.
The 1 a.m. fracas started with a disagreement between one group of men and two other men regarding some women, Atlanta Police Capt. Timothy Peek told CBS Atlanta.
Two men left the bar but their assailants followed them outside and began firing off several rounds in the middle of Moreland Avenue, a state highway.

The two victims, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to their arms and legs, were in surgery but were expected to survive, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The gunmen remain at large and no detailed descriptions were given, but police are reviewing surveillance footage at the bar for possible leads.

The shooting underscores an alarming and ongoing crime spree that has gripped several neighborhoods across Southeast Atlanta since the beginning of May that includes two shooting deaths, at least five armed robberies and one carjacking.
