All Cobb Schools Permanent Staff To Get $2K Bonus Checks In April, District Says
All part- and full-time permanent staff in the Cobb County School District will get $2,000 bonuses using federal pandemic aid money.
COBB COUNTY, GA — All permanent part- and full-time employees in the Cobb County School District will get $2,000 bonus checks next month, Superintendent Chris Ragsdale announced Thursday.
The district is using federal pandemic aid money plus state money to fund the bonuses, which will be received in the April payroll, according to a news release.
Gov. Brian Kemp approved a midyear budget with $2,000 bonuses for some school employees, including teachers, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the district is using CARES Act money to extend the bonus to all full- and part-time staff.

"The intent of the bonus was to recognize educators who have gone above and beyond, obviously, during the pandemic," Ragsdale said during a board meeting Thursday. "So we felt that it was appropriate to go ahead and expand that to all permanent staff."
Cobb Schools has also offered retention bonuses to bus drivers and food-service workers in the last six months.

“I am so thankful to all our educators and support staff who have continued to help our students learn and grow. They are the reason that even during a worldwide pandemic, Cobb students are succeeding and earning state and national accomplishments,” Cobb School Board Chair David Chastain said.
