Atlanta Swim Academy Collects Food for MUST Ministries

The academy donated 1,500 canned food items to the Marietta ministry, and you can take part in the season of giving as well.

Staff Report

Atlanta Swim Academy’s Canned Food Drive and Underwater Tree Lighting on Dec 5th raised 1,500 cans for Marietta’s MUST Ministries. ASA matched all canned donations, and also received $58 in cash donations for MUST ministries. Over 200 families brought canned goods for the charity. As a “Thank You” for their donated cans, each swimmer participating received a glowstick to decorate the live 9’ submerged tree with the assistance of Santa’s swimming elves. 400 glowsticks were hung on our tree by the end of the evening and the kids sang Christmas Carols during lights out around the glowing tree. Swimmers could then enjoy open swim in Pools 1 & 3 while swimming with a real mermaid performer. Professional photographs were available to order with the real Santa Claus, and a Polar Bear partied with the kids in the main hall as they enjoyed holiday refreshments including over 750 cookies with egg nog and juice.

We’re still accepting cans on location through December 14th. ASA and MUST Ministries thank you for your generosity and wish you a very Happy Holiday Season.
