Beni’s Cubano Set To Open June 5 In East Cobb

Beni's Cubano, described as "home-style Cuban cooking with a chef's touch," opens June 5 in East Cobb.

EAST COBB, GA -- Beni’s Cubano, a modern eatery serving classic Cuban fare, is set to open its doors on Monday, June 5 at The Avenue East Cobb. Patch told you about the much-anticipated eatery last month as grand opening details were still being worked out.

Helmed by executive chef Cesar Velazquez, the restaurant's decor, complete with antique bicycle hanging overhead and colorfully painted antique shutters, will take diners into Havana's hey day. The eatery comes to East Cobb from the minds (and kitchens) of Southern Proper Hospitality, the team behind Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill and other restaurants.

Menu highlights will include dishes such as Seafood criollo, a sautéed shrimp and mahi mahi dish in a Cuban-Creole sauce with sofrito. Also, Vaca frita, Velazquez’s creative new take on an old favorite made with crispy short rib, grilled onions and peppers, mojo and lime. And of course, the classic Cuban sandwich will be standard fare.
