Cobb Sixth Grader Wins 2 Gold, 1 Bronze Medals At International Table Tennis Championships
A Dodgen sixth grade student won two gold medals and a bronze medal at the International Table Tennis Pan American World Championships.
EAST COBB, GA — Geetha Krishna may only be in sixth grade, but she has already served as a United States representative on the world stage — and has gold medals to prove it, the Cobb County School District said in a news release.
Krishna, a sixth grader at Dodgen Middle School, recently participated in the International Table Tennis Federation Pan American World Championships in Cuenca, Ecuador. She won a gold medal with her 2021 U.S. National U-11 Girls' teammate.
During the tournament, Krishna and her teammate defeated Ecuador, Brazil and Puerto Rico, the other half of the U.S. National U-11 team. In total, she walked away from the games with a Team Gold, Girls Doubles Gold and Girls Single Bronze medals.

Pan American World Championships represent the highest level of competitive table tennis for Americans in the under 13 and under 11 age categories.
"The future of American table tennis is really in the hands of these young athletes,” Sean O’Neill, the high performance director for USATT, said ahead of the championships.
