Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Cookie Nip Studio Kitchen will hold its grand opening Saturday. The business aims to educate the public about cookie-making and the bakery arts. The grand opening will include baking instructors and sugar artists offering free demos and plenty of samples of their goods. (East Cobb News)
  2. Cobb County has extended its deadline for absentee voters to mail in their ballots. All absentee voters will be able to send in their ballots by the Nov. 14 deadline, as military and overseas voters do. The American Liberties Union of Georgia and the Southern Poverty Law Center filed a lawsuit against the Cobb Board of Elections and Registration on behalf of four absentee voters who say they were never mailed the ballots they requested.   3. The Cobb County Public Library is offering support and first steps for family history research. The lesson is available for local young people ages 13 through 19. Head to the Georgia Room at Switzer Library on Monday, Nov. 21, at 6:00 p.m. to participate. Advanced registration is required via email. (Cobb County Public Library via Facebook)
