Development Interests Not Driving Pro-Cityhood Group: Report
A pro East Cobb cityhood addressed some residents' claims that development interests are the reason for the group's push for cityhood.
EAST COBB, GA — A citizens group opposing East Cobb cityhood claims the leaders of the cityhood effort are only pushing for it because of development interests, but the cityhood group denies those claims, East Cobb News reported.
The cityhood opposition group, East Cobb Alliance, said the pro-cityhood group's leader is a longtime retail real estate executive, ECN reported, and voiced concerns that high-density development wouldn't be far behind if East Cobb did become an incorporated city.
Similar claims were raised in 2019 during the first cityhood movement.
