Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:
- Laura Tucker Judge, an East Cobb activist, has filed declaration of intent paperwork to run for a seat on the Cobb Board of Education in 2024. Judge is a Democrat seeking the Post 5 seat, which is currently held by Republican four-term member David Banks. (East Cobb News)
- On Thursday, Apr. 6, first responders spent hours looking through storm drains after a woman ran out of the Cobb County Courthouse. Laytosha Virgil reportedly decided to remove a manhole cover and jump into a storm drain after the judge sentenced her to jail for Felony shoplifting. Marietta Police, Cobb Police, and fire rescue helped deputies track Virgil down. (WSB-TV 2)
- The Friends for the East Cobb Park volunteer group and the Rotary Club of East Cobb will present the debut of “Movies in the Park”on Friday, Apr. 14! The new entertainment feature will show family-friendly movies a few times a year. The first film will be “It’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” with Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers. (East Cobb News)
