- Mike and Judy Boyce have been named East Cobb Citizens of the Year. The awards, presented by Cobb Chamber’s East Cobb Area Council, honor individuals whose contributions to the town can be observed as an example for all. The Boyces have been engaged in local organizations, including Mt. Bethel Church, MUST Ministries, and veteran-related groups, along with volunteering for years. Mike received his award posthumously after he passed away in January 2022. (Cobb County Courier)
- The 18th annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held on Nov. 17, featuring 22 faith and service organizations from the area. The service will be in-person at Temple Kol Emeth starting at 6:30 p.m. The theme this year is “Finding Common Ground," and a collection will be taken to benefit the Give-A-Gobble Campaign. - Barry Morgan, a retiring Cobb solicitor general, has been appointed to the Cobb Magistrate Court on Nov. 9. The part-time position will begin effective January 2023. Morgan served as solicitor general since 1999. (East Cobb News)
