East Cobb Home Suffers Fire, Smoke Damage

EAST COBB, GA — A Jamerson Road home suffered heavy fire damage Sunday afternoon, according to the Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

Fifteen units responded to the fire around 12:45 p.m. after getting several calls of heavy smoke and fire. Fire officials said the home and garage "were a total loss."

The fire began to spread to the woods, but crews were able to quickly extinguish it before other homes were damaged, fire officials said.

The homeowner told the fire department no one was home at the time of the fire. The cause and origin of the fire are unknown.
