Visitors to the Chick-fil-A on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta may see an unusual sight upon walking inside on Veterans Day and the days that follow: an empty table with a folded American flag covering the plate.
This is the “missing man” table, meant to symbolically give a spot at the table to all members of the armed forces who have fallen fighting for their country. Manager Alex Korchan told WSB-TV he decided to go above and beyond on the big day.

Although all Chick-fil-As in the metro area are offering free meals to vets and their immediate families from 5 to 8 p.m., Korchan encouraged his employees to bring in photos of family members who are active duty or retired military. The photos were used to create a poster that customers can write on expressing thanks or remembering a lost loved one who served in the armed forces.
