- The Cobb Board of Education approved a $50 million budget for a new multi-purpose facility on Thursday. The budget request was submitted by Superintendent Chris Ragsdale, who says the facility would mainly be used for high school graduations. Other uses for the building would be for SAT/ACT testing, college and job fairs, band and fine arts programs, science fairs, robotics competitions, and other special events; a location has not been announced yet. (East Cobb News)
- In their recent "Sewcial" at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, the East Cobb Quilters' Guild sewed special items for local charity organizations. A total of 18 guild members came together to make placemats for Meals on Wheels, pillowcases for hospitalized children at Ryan's Case for Smiles, and quilts for the Cobb Division of Family and Children Services. Currently, the quilters are working on bags for Beads of Courage of Children’s Healthcare ATL. (The Chronicle)
- "Music in the Park," hosted by the Friends for the East Cobb Park, returns this April and May for a total of four concerts. Three of them will take place in April starting Sunday, Apr. 2, and the final one will take place in May. The guest lineup consists of The Woodys, the LooSe ShoEs Band, and more. (East Cobb News)
