Pregnant Woman Beaten in East Cobb
Her boyfriend was arrested in connection with the incident.

A woman who was 11 weeks pregnant at the time was slapped, punched and thrown to the ground at an East Cobb apartment complex.
Between 11:00 p.m. Thursday and 8:23 a.m. Friday, the woman and her boyfriend got into an argument at the Abbington Pointe Apartments on Terrell Mill Road, according to an arrest warrant.
At some point during the argument, the woman stopped speaking to her boyfriend. That, police said, is when Cedric Lawson allegedly slapped and punched his girlfriend.
"Accused first hit the victim in the face when she was lying on her back in the bed," police said. "Accused then pulled the victim out of bed when she continued her silence and threw her against the wall in the bedroom."
Lawson allegedly threw the victim to the floor where he resumed the blows to the woman's face, according to the warrant.
His girlfriend told police that Lawson struck her four times with both an open hand and his fist.
"The victim sustained a small area of pooling of blood on the right side of the sclera of her right eye," police said. "The victim also sustained a severe headache and vomitting which resulted in her seeking treatment at Emory Adventist Hospital."
Lawson was arrested on a charge of battery, which is a misdemeanor offense. He faces an additional charge of giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.
Lawson remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
