Public Review: Come See Cobb's New Flood Maps
Revises affect several cities including Marietta, Kennesaw, Smyrna and Acworth.

KENNESAW, GA -- Cobb County wants residents to know that new flood hazard maps are available for public review.
The new maps replace the current ones, which are based on outdated technology, the county said.
Heavy rains in 2009 caused millions of dollars in damage to the area and hundreds of Cobb County residents had to stay in shelters.

The preliminary maps will be discussed at a community open house on Feb. 22 at the Cobb County Water System Training Lab, 662 South Cobb Dr., Marietta. There will be no formal presentation of the plans so residential and commercial property owners are free to visit at their leisure, the county said.
