RV Driver in Fatal Cobb Hit-and-Run Surrenders

A Canadian citizen wanted for the fatal hit-and-run death of a Florida man in Cobb County over the weekend has turned himself in, Marietta Police said Tuesday. 

Dannie Mondor, 52, surrendered at 4 p.m. Tuesday and was being booked at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond, police said. 

On Monday, Mondor was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run and improper lane change for causing a chain-reaction accident on Interstate 75 Saturday.

The RV he was allegedly driving was spotted in Cape Coral, Fla., on Monday, according to Marietta Police. Mondor's Cobb Sheriff's Office booking report listed a home address in Cape Coral.

Police said the RV was attempting a lane change southbound on I-75 near Delk Road around 1:45 p.m. Saturday when it slammed into a Toyota Camry, which then crashed into a Toyota Prius.

The Prius hit a median wall and flipped, partially ejecting a passenger, Bradley Braland, 40, of Winter Garden, Fla., who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Braland died at the scene. A female driver of the Prius was treated for injuries at WellStar Kennestone Hospital and a four-year-old boy riding in the back of the vehicle also survived. 

The multi-car collision shut down southbound lanes of I-75 in Cobb for several hours on Saturday.  

Braland was the director of communications and publications for Reinhard Bonnke's Christ for All Nations, an evangelical Christian ministry based in Orlando.
