Science 'Spooktacular' at Wood Acres School

The East Cobb private school renewed another late fall tradition on Wednesday.

Thanks to Nicole Hankamer of The Wood Acres School for the photos from today's "Science Spooktacular."

Here's how she described the festivities on what turned out to be a gorgeous late fall afternoon:

Community scientists from across the Atlanta Metro area enriched the day including the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, the Wheeler High School Circuit Runners Robotics Team, Association for Women in Science, Arylessence, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Club Scientific, and the Genetics and Molecular Biology Outreach for Teaching Science.

Students kicked off the event with a flash mob Zumba dance to "Thriller." Events on campus included ghost hunting, boo bubbles, spellbinder games, pumpkin DNA extraction, common scents, vampire veins, hocus pocus, all that remains, screaming balloons, the web of life, famous scientists graveyard, punkin' chunkin', ghost roast, brain matter and creepy crawlers.
