Sprayberry Post Office To Honor Marine Lance Corporal Squire 'Skip' Wells
The Sprayberry post office in Marietta will be dedicated to Marine Lance Cpl. Squire "Skip" Wells. Health Secretary Tom Price will be there.

MARIETTA, GA -- The Sprayberry Post Office in Marietta is being dedicated to fallen Marine Lance Corporal Squire “Skip” Wells, who died two years ago in a terrorist attack in Tennessee. The event is set for Monday, July 10, and will be attended by former U.S. Rep Tom Price, who serves in the Trump Administration as the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The post office, located at 2886 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, was renamed in the Marine's honor in December, but Monday's ceremony will be its dedication. The festivities begin at the post office at 11 a.m. Monday. (To get notified of more local news like this, click here to sign up for the East Cobb Patch. Or find your Atlanta-area town here. On July 16, 2015, Wells was one of five service members killed when a 24-year-old gunman opened fire on a Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga. "Disregarding his own safety, Wells was last seen running to warn colleagues in the motor pool of the attack. He was 21 years old at the time of his death," Postal Service spokesman Rick Badie said in a news release.

"We can never repay the immense debt we owe to Skip Wells and his family," Price said in a statement in December. "But we should do all we can to honor his memory and the memory of all those who have given their lives for this nation."

Marietta has showed support to Wells' family and honored the serviceman in several ways. In October, Bells Ferry Park was renamed "Marine Lance Corporal Squire 'Skip' Wells Park."
