'The Hunger Games' at East Cobb Library

The finale of the Teen Sci-Fi Film Fest starts at 3:30 today.

The last days of summer vacation don't have to be all about back-to-school activities.

The East Cobb Library is showing the last movie in its Teen Sci-Fi Film Fest today, "The Hunger Games," starting at 3:30 p.m.

It's a 2011 adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel of the same name. The story is told through the eyes of a teenager who lives in a post-apocalyptic nation in which teens are selected by lottery to compete in "The Hunger Games," a televised battle to the death.

The story contains allegorical references about survival, hunger, poverty and the effects of war.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist.

The screening is free and refreshments will be served.

East Cobb Library is located at 4880 Lower Roswell Road, in the Parkaire Landing Shopping Center.
