• Georgia changed review process for data centers. What does it mean for Middle GA? (macon.com) — A massive 12-million-square-foot data center proposed in Forsyth could be Georgia’s largest and is now moving through a newly updated state review process. The project, valued at about $8.4 billion, would use significant water and generate major tax revenue, with the City of Forsyth set to decide on approval at a Jan. 5 meeting. 
• Forsyth neighbors react to train derailment involving two box cars (13wmaz.com) — A pre-dawn train derailment in Forsyth near Highway 41 and Industrial Park Road scattered plastic beads along the tracks and briefly sent a conductor to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Crews spent hours clearing the line and assessing damage, while nearby residents described the loud impact and expressed relief that no one in the closely packed neighborhood was seriously hurt.
