• Army sergeant to face court-martial in Ga. base shooting that injured 5 (wistv.com) — Residents should know that the sergeant accused of shooting five people at Fort Stewart in August will face a general court-martial on multiple attempted murder and assault charges. Prosecutors say fellow soldiers quickly disarmed him and rendered life‑saving aid, and Army leaders have since honored several Fort Stewart soldiers for their actions. The case now moves into pretrial proceedings under a military judge.
