Here are the top three stories in Gainesville today:
- Police arrested 26-year-old Steven Cooper and charged him with aggravated assault in connection to a road rage incident that occurred on Highway 365 in Gainesville on Mar. 15. Michael Gabriel was shot twice after passing another car on the highway and a 65-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a stray billet. According to Gabriel, he heard nine more shots fired after he was hit. Police also found a 2-year-old child in Cooper’s backseat at the time of the shooting. (WSB-TV)
- Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Gainesville man after he viewed child pornography on his computer while deputies were searching his home. Alan Neil Thur, 75, has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and five additional
counts of child pornography. (WSB Atlanta) - On Feb. 28, Forsyth County deputies arrested Christopher Cook, 46, of Gainesville in connection to a January theft. Cook allegedly stole various tools, flashlights, two dragonfly pendants, and a trailer valued at $1,500. Flock camera footage shows a Jeep Grand Cherokee registered to Cook driving with the trailer on Jan. 19. (Appen Media)
