'Around the World Visits Snellville' a Huge Success

The latest event sponsored by Snellville Tourism and Trade was a huge hit, with hundreds of people coming out to experience the sights and sounds of the globe.

Spearheaded by Keisha Cameron, founder of The Exchange, a multicultural organization, and STAT board member Aysha Cooper, the event was designed to celebrate the diversity of our growing community.

The Snellville Police Explorers volunteered their time to help the day go off without a hitch, while councilman Mike Sabbagh and his wife Rita manned a booth dedicated to the Arabic culture.

"We have such a diverse group of people here in Snellville," said councilman Sabbagh. "It's great to come out and celebrate that."

Go. Eat. Give. gave a cooking demonstration featuring traditional Indian recipes, and a number of troupes performed traditional dances, including Irish, Ballet Folklorico and Laotian (see video). Time2Inspire Performing Arts performed numerous times with a host of talented youth and adults.

Keisha Cameron hopes to have an even bigger festival next year with more local talent.
