Snow Reported in Gwinnett; Fire Warning Issued on Tuesday

Flurries are reported in Peachtree Corners and Suwanee. Also, there's a warning of fire conditions.

  Snow flurries have been reported Tuesday (March 26) in Gwinnett. And you can throw a fire conditions warning in with that, too.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of light snow before 10 a.m. Tuesday. Snow was reported in an area of Suwanee. Also, WSB TV has video of snow in Stone Mountain, and said there are Twitter reports of snow in Peachtree Corners and Alpharetta.

Adding another twist the unusual 2013 spring weather -- warning of "high fire weather conditions."

The NWS advisory reads in part:

...LIGHT SNOW AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING WITH HIGH FIRE DANGER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON... .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... WITH A COLD AIRMASS IN PLACE ACROSS THE REGION...WRAP AROUND MOISTURE FROM THE EXITING LOW PRESSURE CENTER IS BRINGING LIGHT SNOW FALL TO NORTH GEORGIA THIS MORNING. THIS LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH 10AM AS TEMPS WARM THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. THE SNOW IS LIGHT ENOUGH WHERE LITTLE TO NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.

WINDY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE STATE TODAY. WITH LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND LOW FUEL MOISTURE VALUES EXPECTED...HIGH FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL EXIST THIS AFTERNOON MAINLY ACROSS CENTRAL GEORGIA.
