How do you know the local hero?

I support her community association nonprofit.

What does the local hero do?

Started the nonprofit Mountain Park Community Association with the goal of making the area of unincorporated south Gwinnett a better place to live and play.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

She has invested a lot of her time and money for the purpose of improving the area for everyone else. She received a livable communities initiative grant for the county from the ARC to study ways to improve the Five Forks Road "corridor." She also engages with the community and county on other significant issues. She supports the association website, email list and a Facebook page, which combined reach close to 8,000 followers in the area.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

Warm-hearted and selfless (that's two..)

Thank you for all you do, Kate Pittman!
