• Felon Arrested With Blue Lights, Badge, and Firearm in Gwinnett County (thegeorgiasun.com) — Gwinnett County Police say a September traffic stop led to the arrest of a convicted felon accused of riding a motorcycle with a stolen tag, fake badge, and blue police lights, plus a firearm he’s barred from having. Officers released body camera footage and listed a long set of charges, including impersonating an officer, fleeing police, and giving a false name at the jail.
   

• Cemetery fence in Gwinnett County causing controversy (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Families with loved ones buried in a historic Gwinnett County cemetery are protesting a new privacy fence they say disrespects graves and blocks access. After complaints, Gwinnett County cited the church that installed it for a height violation, and officials say the property owner is now working with the county to lower the fence.
   

• Newly-elected Gwinnett Democrat Akbar Ali promises progress in Georgia legislature (wabe.org) — A 21-year-old Democrat, Akbar Ali, now represents a southwestern slice of Gwinnett County, including parts of Snellville and Lawrenceville, in the Georgia House. He’s pledging to focus on affordability, public schools, healthcare, and housing access, arguing state leaders are distracted by culture-war issues instead of everyday Gwinnett concerns like rising home prices.
