Over the two-day event, the ladies each volunteered at least 15 hours in shifts of 10 and five hours. From 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., they manned the Pro-Am registration desk and supervising clubhouse activity. They also made sure that participating golfers get autographed photos.

“We are all thrilled the Champions Tour is here in Gwinnett. We love the game of golf, and having the tournament here is a wonderful opportunity for the entire community,” Co-president Holliday said this week.

“The five local organizations that will benefit from the event do a tremendous amount for our community, and we wanted to support that. Volunteering as a group, with our SLGA friends, makes it a lot of fun, and we are looking forward to two very busy days.”

Charitable beneficiaries of the golf tournament are Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation, Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, and Gwinnett Tech Foundation.

The ladies finished volunteering at the Pro-Am by the end of the day Thursday. “Then we can watch the tournament,” Holliday said.
