Bad Resolutions, Sunday Sales

Did anyone purchase alcohol on New Year's Day?

It’s Sunday night on New Year’s Day when I sit here, resigning to the fact that I’m already failing on half my resolution. Way to go.

I typically love resolutions, but this year I’m so bummed.

Last year I wanted to do more good, and I suppose I did, but now I’m more convinced than ever that β€œno good deed goes unpunished.”

My translating volunteer work was a disaster. Nobody knew what was going on and I was so confused in English that there was no way I could talk in Spanish.

My dog fostering, well,

I worked out most days and ate really healthy and gained 10 pounds.

I even stopped texting and driving and got in my first car accident when a deer hit me. Yea, it ran into the side of my car when I was driving. I did not hit him. He t-boned me.

Do you know how hard it is to make resolutions after that?

Anyways, offices are closed today but you can still bring your Christmas tree to be recycled if you’ve taken it down. Keep in mind, though, that it’s bad luck if you do take it down before Jan. 6. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

offices are also closed.

were open for business for the first time on a Sunday in Holly Springs yesterday. Did you buy alcohol on Sunday?

A Facebook post from a few days ago generated a little stir. Several articles online state that hunters frequently let their hunting dogs go to be strays after hunting season. Research shows that there is a large number of Beagles, Basset Hounds and Hounds showing up in shelters after hunting season ends.

That said, my final decision on the -I-need-a-new-dog Patch saga is that I need a female, 5-to-6-year-old Beagle, Basset Hound or Hound that has been used for hunting. This isn’t because I huntβ€”I don’t. It just breaks my heart that some (insert bad word if I used bad words and could put them on Patch) would leave a loyal dog just because she wasn’t the best at hunting or because the season was over. Plus, I was raised with Beagles, Daisy loves them, and I’ve never heard anyone complain about their nature. I can handle most things but I’m not OK with a mean dog.

Have a good day, y’all.
