Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a two-vehicle accident this morning just shortly after 8 o’clock at the intersection of Georgia Highway 20 and Union Hill Road. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a white Ford Explorer on its side at the intersection.  The 25-year-old driver was conscious and alert and was later transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital to be evaluated.  The 49-year-old driver of the silver Hyundai Elantra was treated on the scene.  Traffic had to be diverted around the accident scene until the wreckage was cleared. No other injuries were reported and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident at this time.
